Our PR Visa timeline

I used to frequent a couple online forums (BritishExpats.com and AustraliaForum.com) when we were still applying for both our Australian and Canadian Permanent Resident visas. One thing that has been helpful and inspiring personally to me was seeing the timelines of people who have been successful in their journey. So to help others in the same situation, I'm also putting up our timelines here.

Our PR application falls under the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) which means is was of higher priority than other skilled migration schemes, thus the shorter processing time. We got our visa within 3 months of submission.

Here's our timeline:

Preparations:
  • 17 Oct 2013 - Applied for ACS skills assessment (was aiming for ENS Direct Entry Stream)
  • 24 Jan 2014 - Received positive assessment
  • 10 Feb 2014 - Fingerprinting at at the Philippine Embassy for NBI Clearance form
  • 08 Mar 2014 - Took IELTS exam
  • 19 Mar 2014 - Received IELTS results
  • 05 May 2014 - Medical examinations (booked 2 weeks prior via My Health Declarations)
  • 05 May 2014 - Couriered NBI Clearance application to Philippines
  • 21 May 2014 - Received NBI Clearance
  • 06 Jun 2014 - Applied for AFP National Police Clearance
  • 12 Jun 2014 - Received police clearance on mail
Application:
  • 18 Jun 2014 - Submitted all the documents to our Migration Agent
  • 29 Jun 2014 - Submitted additional documents request by the Agent
  • 13 Aug 2014 - Application lodged by agent; IMMI Acknowledgment received
  • 8 Sep 2014 - Applied for Medicare card (booked 2 weeks in advance)
  • 25 Nov 2014 - ENS Nomination Approved
  • 29 Nov 2014 - Permanent Residence Granted

Surprisingly, we were not asked to submit a Singapore Police Clearance anymore. This was fantastic because can't just apply for a Singapore police clearance (unless your a citizen there) and preload your PR application. I was already anticipating at least a month's delay getting this sorted. Fortunately, it wasn't needed anymore.

Happy as can be!
